I like how you summarized your game by game and live tickets,
and even moreso, how you mentioned your wager. I went last night,
and played the Pik 4 as 2x/3x/4x/4 for $96.00. I caught the first
3, and had the 1456 in the final game, and I saw the will pays.
No one had the 3 or 7 (Gino and Alliez), and you obviously had
the 124568.
I was absolutely disgusted after Hernandez caught the forehand
just before the screen and fired a sidearm to Alliez's shoe, as
it comes angling off the side wall, and Alliez gets to it AND
somehow catches it and wins the point. I knew if not for the totally
improbable catch, Hernandez wins that point, and then faced Olabe
next, both would have had 4 points, and that would have forced
game point for me for over $1,300 on the dollar, (and a break
even take for you). But then Alliez beats Olabe, then Larru dumps
the serve, and I thought, oh okay, this now looks weird. Thank
goodness Azpillaga beat Alliez, and that leap catch Egi then made
to win was great (for me). I also know another long time supporter
of Orlando Jai Alai who also hit it.
So, I think the Pik 4 is working well. On occasion, some may invest
in it, and take their chances, like last night. Covering the wager
is not practical. If someone spent 4k to cover it, you need also
factor in Orlando's 25% take first, then see what's left over.
Last night, there was some $1,310 carried over, and I saw there
was $1,857 wagered on it. So, Orlando gets 25% of that leaving
some $1,392.00 added to carrover = $2,700.00. So Eric made a good
bet at the right time, if he hits alone. However, even if the
pot were some 3k and someone wagered 4k on it, and let's say other
wagers are generous and pump in 1k. So 5k is wagered, and Orlando
gets 25% leaving $3750 + 3000 = 6750. Unless you are the only
winner, you can't finish ahead...not even close. The interest
in the wager is there, and it's nice to see. And the pools are
larger with the simulcasting. Citrus weekend will be a thriller
to see these pools, I hope!
