This is something I have always wondered about.
Would you rather be "The Bolivar of the early games" like Martija was at Bridgeport, or a late gamer of post 1 / post 2 level who gets outclassed so often that that you eventually lose your confidence altogether.
When guys who have been getting creamed forever are dropped back down to earlies, it seems that it takes a while before that get their psyche back in order. IOW, they don't dominate right away, even though class-wise you might expect it.
So I think there are a lot of lower level late gamers who would kick ass in the earlies and also appear to be "most improved". eg: Jairo, who actually was "most improved" back when he played earlies.
