I've often mentioned my betting principles. I play trifectas and always play off whichever team(s) I like to win, then play the majority of the sensible place and show combos with it. I then hope the team does not run the game straight out, unless a less favored combo results, hence, a better payoff. Like when I play off the 8, and it just happens to be a perfect game with 8 winning, 5 placing, and 2, 3, 4 and 7 have 1 point, and the 7 shows, often, for a big price. It costs a bit to wager this way...about $30 for each team I like, but hitting the tougher combos is where it's at. I also love wagering off post 1 and 2, because, again, most people only play the run of the mill stuff, like 12/12/456, or 12/5/123. So, often, when the 1-8-6 comes in, again, you get a better price.
