Assuming you are correct - since I haven't been watching much lately - that's really a key insight.
Going back quite a ways, I posted that if a singles game began by the server flipping the ball to the receiver, who then had to begin the point by standing right in the corner and throwing a reverse, then the smaller frame guys like Beitia and Arregui would be at a huge disadvantage. The 'server' would then field the pelota at midcourt and take over on offense.
The point being that in some case the serve advantage was not so much about the serve, but had to do with the physics and geometry of having to start from that deep corner location.
Now you are saying that when Goiko is caught in that corner position, not only is he bigger and stronger, but he takes 3 steps forward and also somewhat outward and starts out on offense.
That does not seem right.
Makes you wonder that if the rules have evolved here to let that go, have they also done that in parallel in the Basque region? Will we see the same kind of play in the coming partidos?
