All of those wagers are smart wagers, except the 5-2-7 and 5-2-8, both considered tougher numbers (2nd round win games for the 5, usually), but I like numbers like that, becaues you usually get a great payoff.

You made some great wagers, and very nearly hit the tri. Believe it or not, most people shy away from wagering the 7-1-4, 7-2-4, 8-1-4, and 8-2-4, because they are less common, but, they are run numbers and usually return good money. I hate, hate playoffs, so I make my tri wagers as much as possible to avoid losing a playoff. I'd say about 90% of the time, if I pick the winning team, I will hit the tri, so my wager is all based on getting that team to win. You'll see, in time, if you play some slightly tougher numbers--those that are NOT tied to run numbers--you can really hit some big money. So, if you like post 4, and you play the run numbers AND the longer combos, and you hit that 4-5-8, you should see a big return. Personally, for me, I love to wager off the 4. In addition to the run numbers, I always play 4/5/1238, 4/67/123 and 4/8/1235...just hoping post 4 actually does not run it out, but scores a few, loses, and returns to win, setting up tougher place and show combinations that are not insane, but still hittable. So if that 4//67 or 4//78 comes in, of course I don't play that kind of number, but if that 4-3-6 comes in, I do play that.
