I agree that the statistical record is the correct starting point.
But if both Lopez and Irastorza were absent for most of 2009B, and the remaining late backs were weaker than in prior seasons, then that might account for it.
As I said, I'm not as up on Miami as I'd like to be - hence not sure about that - but I do know that we can't just assume that the opposition is a constant.
