A contrarian view

The new websites are good, but jai alai has definitely been behind in proliferation on the net.

Any positive news from Spain must be taken as a plus.

Anything involving the Phillipines should be met with a wary eye. It's not Texas Jai Alai, but there's been disappointment in the past.

Miami's clean up before tournament could have easily been an OSHA or Health Inspection cleaning too. Glad to see it happen though. I haven't been there since 2005, but the last couple of times were shockingly bad.

I'm very excited about Benny's involvement at Dania. It's long overdue to have another active amateur progarm at a fronton. Dania may finally realize that there is a need to cultivate American talent. The talent pool is aging and dwindling and there isn't nearly as much talent to replace it. Tevin (albeit almost 20 years ago) was proof you could take a raw athletic talent and mold them into a jai alai player in short order.

Any reconstruction products is a good thing, but lets not forget there was optimism five years ago because of Pau and a fronton up in Jasper that everyone was excited about.

Sorry, a lot of cold water this morning on a hot topic. I will say that Dania's hiring of Benny does indicate a willingness to be in for the long haul, which is a nice thing to be able to say.
