There's no doubt, it has waned for me. I don't even check this site everyday. Live jai alai for all of two days in the last 2 1/2 years hasn't helped and I agree with Joe that watching online isn't the same (and I miss playing much more as well.)
The sport will never be back where it was in the 70's and 80's. Even the late 90's is a stretch unless management gets smart and finds ways to embrace today's social media.
For example:
Leveraging Facebook and Twitter so fans could keep track of the results that way.
All games replayed EVERY day on You Tube (highlights at least.)
Christian's site and the fledgling Jai Alai TV are a good site. Benny Bueno seems to have lots of great ideas so he should be in the ground floor of any initiative like that.
Until and unless that happens, interest will continue to wane and Dania or Miami will be gone within 3-5 years, with the other gone 10 years after that.
