Erik might be the man...but not today.
Arriaga is going to be 33 this year (amazing to me as I saw him
as a 19-year old rookie), and he has slowed a step. Diego looked
really good yesterday, but this is a giant step up for him. Solozabal
isn't the same since his injury, Arregui is aging, Celaya is aging
and hurt frequently. Urkidi has never been on Arriaga's level
and that's about everyone.
Erik is amazingly consistent, has a number of shots and incredible
speed. I see him challenging Arriaga if he progresses in his career,
but I see this as a few years off...maybe by 2011 or 2012. That
is (of course), both are still playing and there still is a Dania.
We can only hope we'll be able to see that play out.
