This circumstance has way too many variables.
First of all, it depends on the player. I've seen Egi play atrocious
in an early game. However, I once had the attitude that "late
gamers don't care" and didn't bet Zen in an early game, where
he played his butt off. Certain guys are going to be more motivated
than others. When early gamers play in the lates they may be more
motivated, but they also might be tired if it has been a long
day.
Another factor is fatigue. Miami is famous for making a player
a sub in 2 or even three games. Players have to pace themselves,
so they may be conserving energy, especially if it is a doubleheader
day. They may choose specific games to get geared up.
The answer is, frankly, maybe.
