Re(1): #164 - When do you decide if a player is hot (cold)?

The best way, IMO, is to attend live on a regular basis, and build up a set of mental images of all or at least your key players.

Then if observationally you feel that a key player is at his best, but for whatever reasons does not have the stats you mentioned, you will have a good chance at "value".

In theory, any given player could be at the top of his game, but due to bad posts, bad partners, bad breaks, etc might not have the wins (games or points) that he might easily get otherwise.

Anyone can spot 10 wins after the fact, but obviously the dream would be to spot the conditions that lead to them before they happen.

By attending live and watching *everything*, a top observer should be able to do just that.

However, personally, I haven't been a regular live patron in years now, so can't speak from recent experience.
