For me, it's a combination of both. I cover more of the tougher
outcomes. A quick example: If I like post 4, I play 4/123/all,
4/5/1238, 4/67/123 and 4/8/1235. Yes, some are tough, but a 4-5-8
is not that outrageous. Neither is a 4-3-5 or 4-3-6. I looke at
the return, and the fact I HATE, HATE PLAYOFFS where I don't have
them all covered...lol.
I know I could cut down the betting and rule out such tougher
numbers, but to me, you make up the difference in possibly catching
a trifecta that yields a big return...maybe even a signer, as
opposed to playing only direct run numbers, knowing you wont'
get much back in return, like a puny 4-1-3 that pays maybe $70
on the dollar, depending on who post 4 is.
