Hartford Jai-alai in the 80's had a 5 performance week Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays matinees and had in my opinion the best jai-alai since before the 68 strike. Of course they had a fantastic roster too. It was always packed on Saturdays and sometimes it was not over until after 1AM. Most of the players were in 6 games a performance so about 30 games a week. They also took off the month of September and around 3 weeks at Christmas. Every game paid $60-$50-$40. Players were well paid also. Thanks Lasa for the strike and the beginning of the decline of Jai-alai!
