I believe in the early 90's that Dania had some sort of amateur tournament amongst players from their amateur school just befor the first game of the performance. I think it would work between matinee and evening performance similar to schooling races at the dog track. You would definately draw at the least friends and family. As far as wagering on the games, due to licensing issues it would not be permitted. Lastly, if you held it between the performances the the conflict between amateur/ pro in the locker room shouldnt be an issue.
