I think that in the late games there are three dominant players
that most people pick. Goico, Irastorza, and Elizigi. Everyone
is good...but when one of these guys is in your team, you have
that much of a better chance of winning.
I dont think the better players in the early games (Borja, Orbea,
etc) can carry the weaker backs as easily. i.e. Santiso will drop
a ball before Borja can kill the point, etc.
