I read the Skiena book and decided to take a crack at his approach,
while extending it in obvious ways. I rewrote his simulation model
in SAS (a statistical software package), adding bells and whistles
like adjusting point-win probabilities for server advantage. I
dowload Dania program entries and results, update point-win percentages,
median payouts by combination, etc, on a daily basis, then simulate
each game 250,000 times, focusing on exacta frequencies and expected
returns. I have written a bunch of analytical programs to help
me identify betting decision rules, profit by game, et. al.
So I guess the short answer is yes.
