Re(1): #25 - Beating heavyweights and house numbers: Finding 'second tier' bets

I think it comes down to a few things in terms of betting strategy

1.With particularly strong teams (read Goiko and Rekalde in good posts with good backcourters) looking for value with them in the quinella and exacta pools. Generally speaking even from what seem to be overwhelming positions there are a couple of combinations in these pools that provide good value.

2.Look for solid value teams in doubles games. Sure Goiko and Rekalde are going to be on the board a lot, but they arent going to win every game between the two of them, and there are backcourt combinations they dont play well with, and "lesser" frontcourters who are particularly good when comibined with certain backcourters.

3.Look for value when its available with these 2 players. While the Miami crowd certainly does love Goiko and Rekalde, they arent near on the level that Michelena used to be bet, the quinella and exacta odds are generally speaking good indications on when youll find good value with these 2 players. There are times when, I assume because of backcourters or post position or some combination of both, you can find good value with these 2 guys, and both of them, particularly Goiko, can dominate a game enough to carry a weaker back to a win.

4.When there's no value on the board, and it looks inevitable that the chalk is going to take the game, just lay off. Dont bet the game or play a couple of longshot quinellas and hope for a lucky break.
