I have a few betting stratagies that combine handicapping and
money management. Basically I pick my spots for the card and wager
accordingly. I generally pre-bet which is a little risky since
there are scratches from time to time.
I break down my wagers either by "keying" a team or
player with a combination of exactas, a small win bet, a few quinellas
(that I consider to be savers) and one or two reverse exactas
in case my key places, thus I can still make a decent profit if
I have the right saver. This wager runs 36 dollars with the bulk
of it bet in the exacta pool. I will always wheel for a small
amount and then bet the "key" second choices for more.
Another type of wager that I make also involves 36 dollars a game
and is strictly a three number $4 quinella and $3 exacta box with
a one dollar tri box added also.
Finally at times I will even box 4 numbers in the quinella usually
a $4 box which costs $24. This is a lower risk investment that
produces a lower ROI. However I seem to hit a decent percentage
of these to keep me in the black.
