Obviously I am in the minority here, but I appreciate Dania's
effort to add some variety to the mix.
In general, jai-alai does not allow for the kind of "mortal
locks" that you can see in horse and dog racing. But the
rebet puts you right into the "odds-on" territory, which
means a whole different set of reasoning is required.
I haven't really targeted this angle, but I like the fact that
Dania provides the option.
If I wanted to become a "rebet master", I would take
Factor X's implied advice and start examining the public betting
trends by way of WorldRacetrack's odds display. I would also use
my judgement on the "rebet team", including whether
they got there thru domination or flukes.
The more variety you have in betting formats, the tougher it is
for the computer guys to get away with creating a formula and
just phoning it in. (eg: the Skiena book) And the rebet, despite
its flaws, is geared to fans who are actually following the game
as it unfolds.
You probably wouldn't want to advance bet it.
