Bada,

Honestly, what would you have to gain by fixing a game. You already win money for winning the game. To fix a game you would need to get several players involved and thus decreasing the amount of money you would win while increasing the people who knew about it. Not to mention you would have to get an outside person to make your wagers for you. Seems way to complicated when you can just focus on practicing and making yourself better to win more money. I played a couple of seasons in the early 90's and I played to win. Not only did I play to win I hated to see other players win. When I came up against a team with possible game point and I had enough points to qualify for place or show, the last thing I was thinking about was the $20 to $30 that I would have to split with my playing partner if I were to dump or lock and feed. I didnt want those other guys getting wins when I have the opportunity to win that point and possibly win the game.

With all of that being said there may have been an instance while sitting on the bench when I didnt mind if a team finished the game. Lets say I was in post 5 and post 2 beat the 1,3,4 and then I won a point and then lost to the six who then beat the 7,8 and 1 and had possible game point against the 3. I probably sat on the bench thinking that either I get show or I get in the game again. In that instance i probably didnt mind another team winning. I hardly call that dumping. In most cases the players are sitting on the bench thinking the exact same thing the gamblers are. Thinking to themselves if the 5 gets 1 and the 6 get 2 then loses to the 2 I will get another opportunity to get up again. Sound familiar?
