IWasSam, thanks for reminding me of Brock. Completely blanked
when I would try to
remember who was the young American back courter at OJA/Big Bend
in the late '80s-early-'90s. I think Chucho was his stepfather
and taught Brock how to play. Funny story,
I was standing outside of the door to the lounge at the Quincy
fronton with Brock one
night. A young fan approached me and asked me for an autograph
thinking I was a player.
I quickly signed the program the kid gave me and he said "thanks"
and walked off.
Brock looked at me like I was some kind of nut. I looked at him
and said "just signed
it "#29 Brock" he cracked up laughing. Yes, Brock could hold
his own playing that tough
OJA roster. Real nice guy.
