Well, one time I had a friend come down from Michigan and had
to show him why I loved jai-alai. He's a pretty bright guy, and
looking at it with a fresh POV, his immediate reaction was that
handicapping-wise, he would count shows as a demerit.
Interesting, insofar as the losingest players have this irritating
way of defying the simulations and habitually creeping in there
for show. So, in effect, achieving a handful of shows is seemingly
a declaration that "Yes, I am a player who is likely to be
subpar in the win column."
But I have never actually tested that angle.
