No offense, but Ft. Pierce did absolutely NOTHING to promote the
transfer from Miami to Ft. Pierce. I mentioned this in a prior
post, a few weeks before the Miami shutdown, and someone, supposedly,
from Ft. Pierce, chimed in saying they were working very hard
to set up the place so the games could be simulcast over the internet
and such. And to that, I say, big deal.
Orlando's live crowds put to shame all the other frontons.
With a very minimal roster and truly no superstars on it, except
Hernandez, and he isn't even at the level of some of the Miami
talent, Orlando showed it is possible to draw crowds with a constant
promotion and actually promoting it!!! It worked. Weekend crowds
were huge, and the big tourney weekend is always massive. To
get people's wagering dollars these days, you have to really find
a way to draw them in, and Orlando FINALLY did something. All
the other frontons should take note. Also, year round jai alai
is killing the game. Who can really go wager on jai alai, and
other sports, year round? I know I can't afford that...I can
barely afford jai alai wagering as it is, given the economy here,
and I've have to scale WAYYY back.
