HI STEVE - I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO PERSONALLY MEET YOU.
YOU SOUND LIKE A GREAT GUY. AND HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE TO
HELP MAKE
MATT'S COURT A SUCCESS
I STARTED PLAYING JAI-ALAI OVER 35 YEARS AGO.
WHEN MILFORD AMATUER ORIGINALLY OPENED - CHARLES HERNENDEZ
WAS THE TEACHING PRO. BACK THEN YOU HAD TO QUALIFY TO GET A
'PELOTA PASS' - TO PLAY ON THE PELOTA COURT.
USUALLY A PLAYER WOULD PLAY ON COURT 2 UNTIL HE WAS GOOD ENOUGH
TO PLAY PELOTA. HIS WIFE 'ROSE' (HERSELF A GOOD PLAYER)
HELPED HIM WITH THE LEAGUES AND TOURNAMENTS.
BACK THEN THERE WAS VERY FEW AMERICAN PROS (LIKE TODAY STILL).
AT THIS PRESENT TIME MANY PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE
IN MIDDLE-LATE GAMES -
AND MAY NEVER IMPROVE ENOUGH TOO -
"BUT LOVE JAI-ALAI".
TO ME THATS THE SECRET. TO FIND A LEVEL OF COMPETITION THAT
PLAYERS CAN PLAY WITH.
BEING AS NICE AS YOU ARE - AND YOUR WILLING TO PLAY WITH ANYONE.
IS GREAT. BUT YOU ARE THE EXCEPTION.
GOOD - GREAT PLAYERS WANT TO PLAY AGAINST THEIR COMPETITION.
AND AVERAGE PLAYERS WANT A CHANCE TO WIN AGAINST THEIR LEVEL.
THATS ALL SPORTS - NOT JUST JAI-ALAI.
HOW TO ACCOMPLISH IT - IS A CHALLENGE.
IT IS A PLEASURE TO WATCH JAI-ALAI - PRO OR AMATUER.
