Re(1): What is the worst way you have lost at Jai Alai

For me it was at Bridgeport in the late 70s, when I really didn't know much about the game yet. I played four trifectas in this game....468, 486, 648, and 684. For some reason I didn't like the 8 to win the game, and I didn't want to spend the extra $6 to play the box. (You know where this is going already, don't you?) I don't even remember who the players were. Anyway, the 4 and the 8 are playing a point, and if the 4 wins it would bring in the 468 trifecta, without a playoff. (The 4 had 5 points at the time, the 6 had 6 points, and the 8 had 4.) The backcourter on the 4 digs out a chic chac and sends a weak shot to the front wall. The frontcourter on the 8 makes the catch at about the 5 line, and throws dejada. The front on the 4 runs it down, can put the point away with a carom, but throws a return dejada instead. The 8 front runs it down, and kills the point with a carom. I was still alive if the 8 were to lose the next point, because then the 6 would come up at game point, but the 8 won the next point to bring in the 864. Paid over $1100.
