What this all really comes down to is pure marketing. Florida has the population to pull from which continues to grow. Even if jai-alai has become a stepping stone for slots and poker it does not change the fact that games are still being played. One new fronton has opened (still can't believe that) and another may reopen with the hopes of poker and slots in the future. Maybe the slow growth of old and new fans is not meeting expectations but who wants to be a hero that quick? Slow and steady and don't pick the low hanging fruit and everything will be aok. JAI-ALAI will make a comeback. If it takes 10 years it will be worth the wait.
