Not in my years. There were a couple of Ft. Pierce seasons where there might have been a dozen Americans and that was a lot. They would usually play one season Ft. Pierce, move on to Ocala, then Miami mgmt would use that as a stepping stone to move them onto the Miami roster, i.e. Benny, J.J., Ramon, Jimmy and others. After 10 years in Miami, I was glad to stay on a Ft. Pierce, Ocala, Tampa circuit.

Wouldn't it be wonderful just to have a circuit nowadays? I've told Benny that for him to stick on the Miami roster for as many years as he did was amazing. It was a true testament to how great he was, not only playing wise, but the character it took to survive the inner political turmoil that goes on at Miami Jai-Alai. If I hadn't left after 10 years, I never would have gone on to play another 16 years.

Benny knows what I'm talking about. I could write a book about the unknown political turmoil........Hmmmmmm.
