Jim, I enjoy reading your posts very much and find them well-reasoned
and extremely informative.
They are, after all, opinions, and are presented as such.
God, what would ANY sport be without its fans arguing the merits
of its players? I wiled away entire YEARS of my youth arguing
Mantle vs. Mays in the late 50's and early 60's -- and loved every
second of it! If memory serves, there was never a requirement
on the block that you had to have played in the major leagues
to voice a point of view -- only that you could defend it intelligently
and accurately.
