I remember that night big time! There was so much controversy
with that whole situation. The players didn't trust the red light
& neither did the fans...many thought it was just another
fix!...there were a few times it turned on when we didn't think
the pelota hit the screen and vice-versa. I remember the riot
very well. It was the only time Pedro Mir didn't demand that the
players were sitting on the bench in the players cage...he made
us all leave...we were all getting threatened and screamed at
by fans (mostly Latins) who ran right down to the players cage
in front of us...He was the only one who stayed there. I remember
Pedro Mir actually yelling back at several insulting Latin fans!
Reference to chief judge Montero...He took Pedro Mir's place until
Pedro came back from the pelota to the head.
