What about Sarasota? Pretty much the only sports there is seasonal minor league baseball, which has a long history. From the ballpark area to Derby Lane is 52 miles...hmmm. The area has a ton of retirees and that's generally the age group of people I see spending hours on the slots when I go to casinos. A seasonal fronton with year round simulcasts, poker and slots...with pretty much no other competition for the sports entertainment dollar. It even has a nice ring to it...Sarasota Jai-Alai.
