It is great to see all these memories of Bpt jai-alai. It was
the jai-alai that I first saw. It opened when I was about 16 and
I remember the first time I went was on a Saturday matinee. I
remember Ibarlucea and Goicoechea winning a game that day. They
became a favorite team of mine because they had such a good record
together.
I really didn't realize at the time how great that roster at BPT
was because I had nothing to compare it to.
I also remember those closing night ceremonies. It was great to
see the entire roster lining up on the court while they were playing
"We are the Champions". What an appropriate song for
those players.
