I don't think that any data can uncover or foil a player that muff's on purpose to help his average out. The players can make it look good enough that it wouldn't have to be questioned. If a same player gets into a dump situation over and over and muff's the ball then it could also possibly be coincidental. The fact is that this type of play the "lock and feed" does exsist and has been used. I don't need any data to prove this just simply hearing it from a retired players mouth was enough for me.
