This is a match-play single-elimination contest (similar to the NCAA Basketball Tournament).
You'll play head-to-head against several Chalk Talk contestants during 6 upcoming Dania EVENING performances.
(We chose just evenings to ease scoring and give you a better chance to prepare and watch.)
Individual match winners survive and advance to the next round. Match losers are eliminated.
The final winner receives ultimate Chalk Talk bragging rights, and the Grand Prize from Dania Jai-Alai.
Runner-up gets the CHOICE of prize #2 or #3.

DEADLINE FOR QUALIFYING ENTRIES
Friday, February 6, 7:00 PM

GENERAL RULES (for EACH performance)
Each contestant picks ONE post position (team or player) for EACH game on the program. Contestants earn 'Campeonato' points based on their picks' game finishes (Win-5 points, 2nd-3 points, 3rd-1 point). The contestant with the most 'Campeonato' points is the match winner. If both contestants have the same point total, the win is awarded to the contestant whose entry was submitted first. If any players are scratched, designated subs are applied.

NOTE (Changing your entry): You're not allowed to edit posts, but you ARE allowed to post a revised entry before post time. Don't worry, we'll use the latest one.

CONTEST SCHEDULE:

A. QUALIFICATION & SEEDING ROUND
NOTE:
This is NOT a practice round. It is the official start of the contest.
The contest begins with the Friday, February 6 performance, which will determine bracket seeding and set the first round matches. A bracket of 32 is expected, but if there are fewer registrants, first round 'byes' will be awarded to the top qualifiers. The bracket size is limited, so only the top 32 scorers in this round will make it to the match play portion. Qualification and seeding are decided based upon total 'Campeonato' points for THIS performance.

B. SUBSEQUENT (MATCH PLAY) ROUNDS
Individual match competition begins with the Saturday, February 7 (Evening) performance.

POST TIME DEADLINE:
Your picks must be posted by Game #1 scheduled Post Time, 7:00 PM (ET). And, this rule is FIRM - NO exceptions. Please, don't try to play Cinderella, and don't come groveling if you get caught in traffic - just get 'em in early, before it slips your mind - hey, it could happen. Entries must be placed in the threads titled:

It will be much easier for us to score if you use a separate line for each game.
And, to help avoid errors, we suggest that you include the date with your picks, inside your post, e.g.,

My picks for Friday, February 6:

NOTE: You can't bet until Dania posts their entries AND we've opened a betting thread for that performance.
However, you ARE allowed to advance-bet (if the thread is open) in anticipation of a current-round victory.

OH, BY THE WAY ... It's just not cricket to wait for your opponent's bets, and then carefully craft yours around his.
You might think that's clever 'strategery', but this contest is about picking winners, not 'gamesmanship' ... 'nuff said.

Good luck!

THE FINE PRINT
IF YOU DON'T SUBMIT AN ENTRY You receive ZERO points for the performance,
and your match is defaulted.
IF YOUR ENTRY IS POSTED LATE
(i.e., AFTER SCHEDULED GAME #1 POST TIME)
You receive ZERO points for the performance,
and your match is defaulted.
IF YOUR ENTRY IS INCORRECT
(i.e., MIS-FORMATTED)
AND CAN'T BE REPAIRED IN TIME
(the 'hanging chad' rule)
If I can (somehow) interpret your selection,
I'll try to correct the problem.
It's my judgment, so no complaints if YOU blew it.
IF YOU DEFAULT IN THE FINALS You will not receive the runner-up prize.
