Note: You don't have to be a registered member to read the Chalk Talk forum. Registration is required only if you want to post your own messages. Still, we hope you'll join us and participate actively - the jai-alai community needs support. If you want to register, both steps must be completed, or your registration will be CANCELLED after the 7-day trial period.
First, we'll describe the 2-Step registration process. Then, you can go to the Membership Application Page, where you'll enter your user information. This is the sequence for a successful registration. PLEASE READ IT. We've had examples of people who didn't bother to read, and then wondered why their requests were delayed.
1) Complete and SUBMIT the application form - be sure to include all required information. We understand that the information is personal, but it is required to protect the security of the message board. Your information is kept in total confidence, will never be displayed, and is used only by this site to identify its members, for eMail notices and for 'lost password' requests. It will not be used for any other purpose, or revealed to any other party. Required data fields include:
2) When your application is accepted, your 7-day trial membership will begin immediately and you'll receive a confirming eMail containing a coded 'Membership Token'. You should promptly REPLY to this eMail, without changing the Subject line or message content, as your acceptance of our Terms of Service. This procedure shows that your eMail link is working correctly and confirms successful eMail exchange. Assuming there are no problems, your trial membership will become permanent. We will send you a confirming eMail message, containing your account information. You may wish to save a copy of this letter.
Trial memberships expire in 7 days if the Membership Token is not returned.
Accounts that are inactive for a period of 365 days may be closed, at the discretion of Chalk Talk.
IMPORTANT: Your eMail Address is your primary account identifier. You probably know that many popular eMail sources are used for SPAM, fraud and other abuse. These include such familiar domains such Yahoo, Hotmail, Netzero, Gmail and AOL. We prefer that you use a non-anonymous verifiable address such as a school/business eMail Address or an ISP-provided eMail Address (i.e., one that does not give its eMail domain out free and anonymously). However, If you feel the need to use an anonymous (free) address, we will consider doing so on a case-by-case basis. Chalk Talk will not post eMail addresses in public view. We do this for the protection and privacy of our members and venue. Your privacy will be protected with the same level of effort. Remember, you don't have to register just to read the Chalk Talk discussions.
Also: This eMail Address is used only for registration. There is no connection between this address and your day-to-day use of Chalk Talk. In fact, we don't have an eMail field for message posting, nor is it ever displayed.
